LISBON BEAR GUIDE
Lisbon has a growing bear scene
If you are into bears, daddies or scruffy guys in general, Lisbon will not disappoint you. First, you'll get a lot of eye-candy as Portuguese men have that hot Southern European dark and hairy look. Second there is a lot to do and places to go to. In the past few years, the Lisbon Bear scene has grown massively. Ten years ago there was only 1 bar (Max). Nowdays, there is no more Max bar, however there are loads of news options in terms of bars, clubs, cruising places and parties. Lisbon is definitely an up and coming bear destination. Lisbon Bears also go to the beach Given that most of the year the weather is rather warm make sure you try beach 19 also known as Praia 19, which is Lisbon's gay beach. In beach 19 you'll find a lot of furry guys. During the Summer, there is also a bear party organised in the beach. The beach is a fantastic spot right in the middle of a Nature Reserve with amazing scenery. There is a nice bar & restaurant at beach 19. The beach is also the perfect spot for some cruising in the dunes. Príncipe Real is where the bear nightlife happens When night comes, Lisbon offers you plenty of choices of bear-oriented places. After a late dinner, you can start your night in Tr3s. In this bear bar you can have drinks inside or opt to seat outside. They regularly organise theme nights and parties so make sure you check their site. As the night progresses, Tr3s will become increasingly fuller. Inside there is a more cruisy area (where a TV usually shows porn). Tr3s opens quite early and they also offer free WiFi. Feel free to come in the afternoon and just update your "bearwww" profile whilst having a drink outside. Another good option for both an afternoon or a night drink is the Ursus Bar. This venue opened very recently, in March 2013. Ursus attracts bears, their admirers and anyone looking for an friendly environment. From midnight onwards, go and check Woof LX. This bar is usually packed inside and loads of guys occupy the street in front of it. It has a fetishy-theme going on in the interior and a cruising area in the back near the bathroom. The staff is very friendly, the music is good and the guys are hot. You can also try Woof X, which is a bar a bit more naughtier than Woof LX. This bar is very crusy and it has a large dark-room. When is time to go clubing make sure you check out Construction, the most bear-oriented club in Lisbon. It includes a large dance floor, several bars and a darkroom, distributed along 3 floors. Lisbon is hosting several bear events every year Several bears events and parties take place during the year. In the past this have included Lisbon Bear Pride, Summeraction 2012 and Winteraction 2012 & 2013. All of these events last for several days and include many parties in diferent venues and with different themes.
