Costa da Caparica Coast:This is a 30kms coastline located to the South of Lisbon. Its beaches cater for every taste, attracting mostly locals who flock to it during the Summer months. Each beach has a different feel, although there is no real separation between them. The most crowded beaches are near the city of Costa da Caparica, so move further South and you'll find more seclusion and better beach bars.
Morena Beach – 30 mins (21kms) South of Lisbon.
This beach is inside a Natural Reserve and it's surrounded by dunes and pine trees. There are several bars and the open Atlantic waters will allow you to try bodyboard or even kitesurfing.
Bela Vista (Gay Beach 19) - 30 mins (22kms) South of Lisbon.
This is Lisbon's gay beach and one of the largest and best gay beaches in Europe. Like many gay beaches, it is also a nudist beach, so your swimsuit will be optional. It is located within a Nature Reserve and surrounded by dunes and vegetation. If you are looking for some fun under the sun this will be the ideal place to be. There is also a beach bar.

This large beach is located next to a small village and within a Nature Reserve. It is surrounded by dunes, pine trees and a very impressive cliff. Many bars are available and if you walk a few minutes North you will reach an area where nude sunbathing is common and accepted.
Lagoa de Albufeira Beach - 50 mins (40kms) South of Lisbon.
This is a place of great natural beauty, combining the purity of the ocean, with the lagoon waters and extensive pine tree fields. The lagoon offers great conditions for the practice of sport fishing, sailing or windsurf, and as it offers the ocean water or the lagoon waters, is often frequented by families and youngsters.
Meco Beach - 50 mins (42kms) South of Lisbon.
This is the ideal choice for the sophisticated and cosmopolitan lisbonites. This trendy beach is known as a nudist beach since the '70s. Protected by impressive cliffs and pine trees, there is plenty of space and sand for privacy. The cliffs have waterfalls that create a spa-like experience allowing you to indulge in fun mud baths. In the small village of Meco (1km from the beach) you can find cool restaurants allowing you to taste some of the best Portuguese dishes.
