Agito is not quite a gay bar. It's more a very gay & lesbian-friendly space. This large venue attracts mostly an intellectual & indie crowd more interested in the latest indie record than fashion labels. It is very popular with girls.The staff is super friendly. The music is mostly alternative and there's a sort of tiny dance-floor area near the bar counter. Agito also serves meals. If you are hungry you must try their delicious and economical soup-of-the-day or their chicken or tune toasts. They also serve a very good veggie burger.  Agito gets particularly full on Friday and Saturday nights (as it happens in all of Bairro Alto). Outside of these nights, Agito is a space to seat inside and enjoy a peaceful drink and chat. Note that Agito is right at the top of Rua da Rosa, which is off from the "gay-area" of Bairro Alto. This will also ensure you'll see a more diverse clientele.
