Beach Guide

Your visit to Lisbon will not be complete without checking out the amazing beaches around Lisbon. Complement your trip to Lisbon with a day spent at the beach!

Arrábida Coast

From Cape Espichel until  Setúbal bay lies Arrábida Coast where the mountains and the sea come together offering breathtaking views, relaxing beaches and fabulous food and wine.

Sesimbra Beach - 50 mins (40kms) South of Lisbon.

Picture
Set on a curving turquoise bay, Sesimbra is both an attractive fishing town and a popular tourist resort. Protected from North winds by the slopes of the Serra da Arrábida, the waters are calm, ideal for long swims followed by an delicious meal in one of the many seafood restaurants along the promenade.

Portinho da Arrábida Beach – 1 hour (62kms) South of Lisbon.

Picture
This bay with calm, crystal-clear waters has the beauty of the Arrábida Natural Park as the backdrop. Although magnificent, it's never crowded due to the lack of public transport to reach it, as well as only a few parking spots. The beach is served by a couple of laid-back restaurants serving fresh fish and seafood.

Troia Beach – 1 hour (60kms) South of Lisbon.

Picture
The Troia Peninsula by the Sado Estuary has several superb soft sand beaches.  Some areas are highly developed (including an exceptional 18-hole golf course), but along its 18km (11 miles) of coast, you can find untouched sandy beaches lined with dunes and pinewoods. Those searching for peace and quiet can still find it here.
